We regularly enjoy stand up paddling at our local Hayling Island and still like to enjoy some SUP Upwind and Downwind when it gets really windy. It is a day for the Wing foilers, kite surfers and wind surfers though, so I keep out of their way. They are a friendly bunch though so often one will come past to say hello! A glassy start and some great waves over the sand bar for a busy day of SUP surfing with the SIC Bayonet Downwind Stand Up Paddleboard. With the distance to get out back of this location the long SUP board catches every wave and glides with ease.
